Agaden Reach - Home of Shota, the witch woman. Agaden Reach is a very beautiful place, hidden in the Rang'shada Mountains.

Aydindril - Seat of power in The Midlands. Aydindril is the ancestral home of the Confessors and Wizards. It is also where the Central Council of the Midlands meets. Ayndindril is most noted for the Confessor's Palace and the Wizard's Keep.

Azrith Plains - Plains in D'Hara, around the People's Palace.

Blunt Mountain - Mountain in the Ven Forest where Richard and Kahlan battle a quad for the first time.

Boundary - Areas conjured by Zedd where a section of the Underworld also exists in the world of life simultaneously. The Boundaries are invisible unless contacted, when they give off a green glow. One Boundary separated Westland from The Midlands and one separated The Midlands from D'Hara. Another boundary separated the land of Bandakar from the rest of the world. To enter any of the boundaries meant certain death.

Callisidrin River - A River that running through the center of the Midlands.

Carriage House, The - An inn in Tamarang.

Collins Inn, The - An inn in Tamarang.

Crypt of Panis Rahl - A crypt in the People's Palace where the body of Panis Rahl is stored. Its walls are inscribed with spellforms and magic instructions for travelling the Underworld. It is well kept by many servants.

D'Hara - Easternmost of the three lands of the New World. D'Hara is ruled by the Lord Rahl and is one large country. The capital is the People's Palace, a large fortress-like city that was established in the shape of a spellform.

Fire Spring - A place in the Midlands with many natural steam vents. It is the place where Darken Rahl hid Scarlet's Egg.

Garden of Life - The garden at the center of the People's Palace where Darken Rahl performed rituals for going to the Underworld and where the Boxes of Orden were used and are stored. The Garden of Life is also the center of magic for the People's Palace.

Hartland - Richard's hometown in Westland.

Hartland Woods - General name for the wooded areas in the vicinity of Hartland.

Hawker's Trail - The trail around Trunt Lake. The place where Richard first laid eyes upon Kahlan.

Horner's Mill - A town in the Midlands where Darken Rahl's troops, disguised as Westlanders, slughtered nearly everyone in the town.

Kings' Port - Name of the Pass through the Boundary between Westland and The Midlands.

Midlands - Middle of the three lands of the New World and home to many creatures of magic. Ruled by the Central (High) Council of the Midlands and made of many independent countries.

Narrows, The - Place in the Kings' Port Pass where the walls of the Boundary nearly touch. It is a place in the Pass that traverses through a split in a large rock.

Pass - Place where the Boundary is not as strong, allowing one to pass though to the other side. All boundaries raised have one.

People's Palace - City-sized palace in D'Hara, built in the form of a spell to enhance the power of Lord Rahl and nullify the power of any other wizard in the palace. Also the capital city of D'Hara.

Rang'Shada - Translates to: "Warfist of the chosen" The Rang'shada is the mountain range that splits the midlands down the middle.

Shadrin's Cave - Cave passing through to the Fire Spring, and home to a beast called the Shadrin.

Silver Garden, The - An inn in Tamarang.

Skow Swamp - Name of a swamp next to the Boundary where Richard and Kahlan go to escape Heart Hounds.

South Haven - A town in Westland and closest to Kings' Port.

Spirit House - Building in the Mud People village used for Gatherings and respect for their past elders. Richard built a clay roof for this house so that rain would not get inside. This is the place where Richard and Kahlan stayed on their wedding night.

Tamarang - A small kingdom in the Midlands. The home of Queen Milena and Princess Violet.

Trunt Lake - A lake in the mountains around Hartland.

Underworld - The world of the dead, inhabitated by the souls of all deceased people, and ruled by the Keeper. The Underworld has various levels for various types of people. Some people, closer to the top, have more influence on the world of the living, and can be spoken to occaisionally. Others, those who served the Keeper dwell in lower places closer to the inner darkness of the Keeper's lair.

Ven Forest - The forest in the mountains near the town of Hartland sometimes referred to as "upper Ven" and "lower Ven."

Westland - Westernmost of the three land of the New World, created to be without magic when the Boundaries went up. Westland is ruled by the First Councilor. Richard was born and raised in Westland.

White Stallion Inn, The - An inn in Tamarang.

Wilds, The - Primative, dangerous area of the Midlands mainly inhabited by less civilized tribes, including the Mud People, the Nangtong, and the Si Doak.

Wizard's Keep - Sitting on the side of a mountain, overlooking Aydindril, the Wizard's Keep used to be the home to hundreds of Wizards and their families. The Keep is protected in some places by shileds, meant to keep those without the Gift away. Other places, however, are unguarded, allowing entrance to anyone. Now, all the wizards are gone and the Keep stands empty over Aydindril, guarding powerful objects of magic from untrained hands.
